Here's a little bit about the author of this blog in his own words:
"I am an Assistant Team Manager of a small Looked After Children's team. I have been working in Social Work for five years, with one Local Authority. Before this I was a Residential Worker for eight years. The Children's home I worked in was a short term assessment centre for young people aged 13-18 years of age.
I trained through the Open University after being sponsored by my previous employer. And as an adult learner the Open University made this process very simple, clear and as stress free as they could. To make my studying easier I married, then my wife had our second son and we also moved twice. (I would not recommend this whilst studying).
I think the one trait that I have, that has kept me sane in my work has been my sense of humour. This has made some long hours and stressful situations manageable!!"
